Glass CD Shelves

These shelves re-use miscut 3/4" glass from a staircase as shelves for a large music collection of compact discs.  A standardized system of aluminum tracks and brackets were used to hold the shelves.  I developed a minimal custom solution to holding the cds in on the edge of the shelves using thin threaded rods, nuts, and aluminum rods.  The aluminum rods hold the threaded rods straight while also acting as backstops for the cds, keeping them even.  A mirror behind the shelves serves to reflect light the passes through the shelves and the edges of the cd cases, and a light underneath shines up through the shelves, casting a green glow on the ceiling.
